Valley of Deception. We know that Lucifer is the great deceiver, yet we operate in self-deception as we lie to ourselves saying that everything is “ok”. We can look at Samson in Judges 16 in the valley of Sorek where he deceived himself saying, “I will go out as other times before… And he wist not that the LORD was departed from him.”

The Valley of Achor is where Achan disobeyed the commandment of God and stole from the tithe—the first of 10 cities of Canaan, Jericho, that was dedicated unto God. In America, we have it into our mindset that a missionary should stay in one place the rest of his life, but that is not the pattern that Jesus laid out in Luke 4.
