Valley of Sorek
Valley of Deception. We know that Lucifer is the great deceiver, yet we operate in self-deception as we lie to ourselves saying that everything is “ok”. We can look at Samson in Judges 16 in the valley of Sorek where he deceived himself saying, “I will go out as other times before… And he wist not that the LORD was departed from him.”
Valley of Achor
The Valley of Achor is where Achan disobeyed the commandment of God and stole from the tithe—the first of 10 cities of Canaan, Jericho, that was dedicated unto God. The Valley of Discouragement It was in the valley of Eshcol where the children of Israel were discouraged from going over into the promise land. Biblical Pattern of Missions
In America, we have it into our mindset that a missionary should stay in one place the rest of his life, but that is not the pattern that Jesus laid out in Luke 4. The pattern of missions is ‘journeys’ not static, but fluid. In the gospels we see all over Jesus going into every city.
