This Book We Call the Bible

Everything we need in our life, we can find within the Bible.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 tells us that all scripture is profitable and for us so that we may be perfect and throughly furnished to do the work God has made for us.

God’s Word is an inexhaustible well for us. Psalm 92:5 states, “O LORD, how great are they works! and thy thoughts are very deep.

In this sermon, Pastor Terry focuses on the Inspiration of the Bible.

  1. God is the very author of the Bible. The very word “inspiration” means God-breathed.

The Word of God is not for us to privately interpret scripture for our own use and abuse, rather it is a sure word that we would do well to take heed unto. We can see this from 2 Peter 1:19-21

God used human writers, but it was God giving them the words to pen.

  1. Christ is the subject of the Bible.

Every book of the Bible’s main theme is Christ (see handout given during the service)

  1. We are recipients of the Bible.

The Bible is our Instruction Book.

The Bible is our comfort and hope. See Romans 15:4.
