The Valley of Discouragement
It was in the valley of Eshcol where the children of Israel were discouraged from going over into the promise land.
We love the mountain tops because they are inspirational and exciting, but the valleys are what is nestled between the Mountains. Although the valleys are not exciting, they are instructional.
Canaan land is a picture of victorious Christian living.
Eshcol literally means a “bunch” or “cluster”. God gave his people clusters of reminders of his providence and protection for his people. But even amidst this, the people were still discouraged.
Listen to Pastor Terry as he preaches on the valley of discouragement:
- The Commission
- The Comparison
All twelve of them saw the grapes; all twelve of them saw the giants; but only two of them saw their God.
- The Conclusions
What they saw affected their conclusion. Our focus will affect our faith.
- The Consequences
Discouragement will always hinder progress for the will of God.
Don’t let the Valley of Discouragement stop you from conquering the Mountains for Christ.
