How should I figure my tithe?

Proverbs 3:9

The tithe should be one-tenth of your increase. The Bible teaches Gross income tithing— this means that you tithe off of what you make before taxes.

Should a man in debt try to tithe? Mark 12:42-44; Romans 13:8; Proverbs 6:1-2

Yes! How will he ever pay his debt except God give him the health, strength, intelligence, and opportunity to make money? One must not use God’s money to pay his own debts. You wouldn’t steal from your neighbor to pay a bill, so why would you steal from God?

Should I save my tithe for special offerings in the church? Numbers 18:21,24,26-28; Nehemiah 10:38

Should you rob Peter to pay Paul? Absolutely not! Special offerings are given over and above our tithe. If God’s storehouse is my church, then only my church has a right to designate what my tithe should be given to.

As soon as possible. The early church gave their tithes on the first day of the week, which is Sunday.
