What I look for in a True Church – Salvation by Grace

We preach the doctrine of salvation by grace through faith in Christ, not of works. “By grace are ye saved, through faith and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God and not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9. That simply means that a sinner is saved by the grace of God, not by any work he performed yesterday, today, and tomorrow. That is what it means. So when I look for the New Testament Church, that is a local, visible assembly of God’s people who are saved and scripturally baptized, associating together in some definite locality for the purpose of carrying out the Lord’s Commission.

What I look for in a New Testament True Church – Part 1

What I look for in a New Testament True Church? Well, first of all – Its beginning. Where did it originate and who was its founder? Does its teachings line up with God’s holy Word (KJV Bible)?

I understand there are various ideas regarding the origin of the church, but the Baptist position is that which we believe to be the Scriptural position, that it occurred on the mountain top. (Luke 6:12-16; Is. 2:2; Matt. 16:18) And it was founded by Jesus Christ Himself and that the twelve apostles were the first members.

What is a fundamentalist

What is a fundamentalist?

I thank God I’m saved! I thank God I’m going to Heaven when I die! And, I thank God I’m an Independent, Fundamental, Bible-thumping, Baptist preacher! I thank God for a fundamental Baptist church. The Bible is the Word of God. That’s what we preach. We use the KJV by conviction and without apology. Now, what is a fundamentalist? A fundamentalist is somebody who not only embraces the fundamental doctrines of God and is saved, but he opposes that which is evil and wrong and separates from those who are liberals and modernists, who do not hold the fundamentals of the faith. Now a modernist is one who believes in man’s wisdom instead of God’s wisdom. He rejects revealed truth. A liberal is a person who is in step with the world’s views, it’s philosophies of man, who holds man’s views and not God’s views. A liberal is opposite of being a conservative. A liberal Christian is one who won’t stand on much and condemns those who do. And our churches are filled with them…

Unfortunately the principal guilty party in prohibiting the free exercise of religion, a guaranteed constitutional right, has been the Supreme Court. However, Congress is not without blame in regard to the Supreme Court overruling the expressed will of the people. Under Article III Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution, Congress has the power to regulate the appellate jurisdiction of the Federal Courts, yet Congress has rarely been so bold to speak out against the judiciary. It is no secret that our forefathers fled England to escape abuse of governmental power! … America, are you ready for judgment day?

Many have been so indoctrinated with the “don’t offend anyone” philosophy that even many Christians are afraid to speak up against moral and spiritual wrongs in this world. That thinking is not biblical. Christians should stand up and speak out on the issues of our time. Certainly the biblical teaching never intends the Christian to be purposefully rude and hurtful to anyone. We are to warn the world, however, of encroaching dangers and pitfalls. We have the spiritual eyes to see them coming, and we are to warn those that cannot see or understand them…. Getting rid of true Christianity, (God’s witnesses) does not diminish the truth it can only briefly quiet the conviction. We need to call sin what it is and not lessen its reproach. If we don’t speak up, who will?

J. Frank Norris said, “Whenever you find a preacher who takes the Bible allegorically and figuratively…that preacher is preaching an allegorical gospel which is no Gospel. I thank God for a literal Christ, for a literal salvation. There is literal sorrow, literal death, literal Hell, and, thank God, there is a literal Heaven.
