Law or Grace

Law or Grace

Law or GraceSomeone once said, “I was saved by the law” (The 10 Commandments). I don’t think so. The law never saved anyone. There is no grace or mercy in the law. The law was our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ. Gal. 3:10-14, 24. There is no grace in the law. Eph. 1:7. Grace is robbed of its goodness and glory when it is mixed with the law (Rom. 6:14) Because the law sets forth what man ought to be. Grace sets forth what God is. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. John 1:17. Also the law never made man a sinner, it revealed the fact that man was a sinner. It revealed the true nature of sin. Rom. 7:7. The purpose of the law then was to reveal sin as rebellion against God, as a transgression against better light, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

There is not one verse in the Bible, which says that by the law is salvation from sin.

This is the first thing a sinner must learn, that no man can be saved by trying to keep the law. The Believer is not under the law, but under grace. Rom. 5:20; 6:14. We are delivered from the law – Rom. 7:6. Free from the law of grace – Rom. 8:2. And dead to the law – Gal.2:19. Remember, the law did not produce sin, but instead it revealed the free nature of sin. As Paul says in Rom. 7:7 – “I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.” I’m saved by grace – Eph. 2:8-10. Someone once asked, How can a person know that he has been saved? First, take me for example, I was there when it happened, a wonderful experience when you passed from death unto life. How can one know he was saved? By the witness of the Spirit- Rom. 8:16. The Spirit, Himself, beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God. No one can explain this to you, you must experience it for yourself. But if you are a child of God, there is a certain reaching out from your heart to God that is never satisfied until you touch Him. This is your spirit bearing witness with God’s Spirit. Then, we know we are saved by our attitude toward the world. II Cor. 5:17. The things that I once loved, I now hate. The things that I once hated I now love. Your entire attitude is changed, if you have truly been saved. Then, we know that we have been saved by the fruit that we bear. Jesus said, By their fruit ye shall know them. Have you any fruit to prove that you belong to Jesus? Evidence that we have been saved is seen in God changing our lives, obeying Him and desiring to do His will. Listen to me, true repentance, if it’s genuine (real), will have faith and this Biblical repentance will have deeds. People are going around saying they have faith, but there is no evidence of their faith.

Listen to me, faith is the root of your salvation, works are the fruit of your salvation.

You see, without repentance there’s no conviction, with no conviction there’s no salvation. You’re the natural man. You’re dead in trespasses and sins – Eph. 2:12. Remember, once you’re saved, the Holy Spirit works in you and through you. You’re no longer the natural man. You become the spiritual man. He restrains – a restrainer of sin keeps sin from growing. He reproves – conviction from your old ways. II Cor. 5:17. You’re a new creature in Christ. Amen. Also, without the Holy Spirit you cannot know the things of the Spirit of God. (1) Listen, you cannot be Godly without God. (2) You cannot be a Christian without Christ. (3) You cannot be holy without the Holy Ghost. I tell you what, there’s a lot of Baptist’s that are not holy. You know what the Holy Ghost would have you to do? Live holy. Let me ask you a question. Why don’t you live holy? You say you have the Holy Ghost in you? This ‘have my own way’ crowd, that goes in and out of the relationship with Christ, that lives in sin, shacking up with each other, dress, act, and look like the world, this crowd, their sins don’t bother them anymore. And they go to church one Sunday to see the Baptist pope, and he says a little prayer with you. And after they walk away, they’re not broken over their sins. Brother, when you’re saved, you get broken over sins. You know it’s sin, and the Holy Spirit of God convicts you of that sin. Please, if the Holy Ghost does not deal with you about your sins, you’re not His Son. Hebrews 12:6-8. That’s Bible.
